Srinagar – Air travel in Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a major boost, with air traffic at Srinagar International Airport doubling in recent months, highlighting the region’s growing connectivity.
According to an official report, the government has initiated significant infrastructure upgrades to accommodate the increasing demand. One of the key developments is the expansion of Jammu Airport, where 908 kanals of land have already been transferred to facilitate the project. Additionally, night operations at Jammu Airport have been extended until 8 PM, enhancing accessibility for travelers.
To ensure efficient monitoring and timely execution of infrastructure projects, the administration is leveraging digital platforms such as Tameer Taraki and Hamari Sadak, enabling real-time supervision of air transport and other key initiatives.
“These efforts are not just about improving air connectivity but also about driving economic growth, making travel more seamless, and strengthening Jammu and Kashmir’s position as a key travel hub,” the document states.
With these expansions, the region is poised for greater mobility, tourism growth, and enhanced business opportunities, marking a significant leap in its aviation sector.
