Starting May 26, Maybank customers will notice a new change when it comes to topping up prepaid services. The bank is introducing a RM200 daily transaction limit for reload services — this includes mobile prepaid (local and international), internet reloads, and game credits with PIN.
Why the change? According to Maybank, it’s all about making online banking safer. “We’re constantly working to enhance the security of your transactions,” the bank shared on its website.
If RM200 isn’t enough for you, don’t worry — you can raise your limit up to RM500 through Maybank2u web. Just head over to Settings, select Pay & Transfer, and then Reload Limit. Once you’ve adjusted your limit, there will be a 12-hour cooling-off period before the new setting kicks in. During this time, your existing limit still applies.
Maybank also assures customers that you’ll get a push notification and email alert from the MAE app when the cooling period starts and ends, so you’re always in the loop.
The bank encourages everyone to take a moment to review their daily limits for transfers, payments, and reloads to suit their personal needs.
So whether you’re topping up your phone or adding game credits, keep an eye on your daily usage and stay secure.
