Srinagar, May 15: In a heartfelt gesture of support and solidarity, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is visiting Srinagar today to personally interact with soldiers and officers stationed in the region. His visit comes in the wake of the recently concluded Operation Sindoor, a high-stakes counter-insurgency operation led by Indian forces across the border in Pakistan.
According to reliable sources, Singh is expected to land at the Badami Bagh Cantonment around 11:30 AM. This marks his first visit to Kashmir following the operation, which garnered significant national attention and reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Indian forces to national security.
During his brief but meaningful trip, the Defence Minister will hold crucial security review meetings with top military commanders at the 15 Corps headquarters. But beyond strategy and briefings, the visit is deeply symbolic—an opportunity for Singh to directly engage with the men and women in uniform, hear their stories, and personally commend their courage and dedication.
He is expected to deliver an address to the troops, expressing the nation’s gratitude for their resilience and service in the face of persistent challenges.
After completing his engagements, Singh is scheduled to return to New Delhi later in the day. His visit, though short, sends a strong message of reassurance—not just to the armed forces, but also to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
