Strong India-UK Friendship: A New Chapter Begins with PM Modi’s Visit

London, July 24 – The cool evening air in London greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he touched down for a meaningful two-day visit to the United Kingdom. This is more than just a diplomatic tour — it’s a heartfelt step forward in strengthening a deep and evolving relationship between two historic partners.

With a warm and optimistic tone, PM Modi shared on social media:
“Landed in London. This visit will go a long way in advancing the economic partnership between our nations. The focus will be on furthering prosperity, growth, and boosting job creation for our people. A strong India-UK friendship is essential for global progress.”

These are not just political words — they reflect the mutual hopes of millions in both countries who share common aspirations for a better, more connected future.

Welcomed by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, PM Modi’s fourth visit to the UK comes at a crucial time. The leaders are expected to hold extensive talks, not only about shared economic interests but also about broader concerns that touch lives on both sides of the globe — climate change, innovation, healthcare, education, and the complex security challenges of our times.

During his stay, PM Modi will also meet with His Majesty King Charles III, a gesture that underscores the significance of this visit on the world stage.

The highlight of the trip will be the review of the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). With both sides working steadily toward a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), hopes are high. If finalized, the FTA could eliminate tariffs on 99% of Indian exports to the UK and reduce duties on 90% of British exports to India. This could double bilateral trade to $120 billion by 2030, a vision that promises tangible improvements in everyday lives — from Indian farmers and British distillers to tech innovators and job-seekers across both countries.

Another critical issue on the agenda is security. PM Modi is expected to raise concerns about Khalistani extremist activities in the UK — a matter that India has continually flagged as a threat to its national integrity. “We’ve brought this to the attention of our UK partners,” said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, stressing the need for proactive cooperation.

As PM Modi embarks on this important journey, the spirit is clear — this is not just about policy. It’s about people. It’s about shared values, shared histories, and a shared future.

The world watches as India and the UK step into a new chapter — together.
