Waves of Fear Across Delhi: Bomb Threats Shake Over 45 Schools Parents and Children Left in Shock

A wave of bomb threats sent chills through over 45 schools in Delhi on Friday, shaking the nerves of hundreds of students, anxious parents, and school staff. As young children clutched their bags and held their teachers’ hands tightly, many schools were abruptly evacuated under the watchful eye of bomb squads, sniffer dogs, and fire crews.

What should have been a normal school day quickly turned into chaos, with scenes of crying children, worried parents rushing to the gates, and a tense silence hanging in the air as authorities swept through classrooms and school grounds.

This marks the fourth bomb scare incident this week, deepening the fear and raising urgent concerns about student safety across the capital. Schools affected spanned across various corners of the city — from Pitampura to Dwarka, Rohini to Rajouri Garden, Janakpuri to Vasant Vihar — no region was spared.

Institutions such as Maxfort Junior School, Delhi Public Schools in multiple zones, The British School, Amity International, and many others were caught in the storm of these threats. In some schools, announcements crackled over intercoms urging calm while students were led out. In others, the panic was harder to contain.

Authorities, including the Delhi Police and specialized bomb disposal units, acted swiftly. Thankfully, no explosives have been found so far, but the psychological damage to young minds is undeniable.

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Atishi voiced her anger, calling out the BJP for failing to secure the city. “More than 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through,” she said on X (formerly Twitter).

Her statement echoes the collective worry of many families across Delhi. These threats aren’t just about physical safety; they’re attacking the very sense of security children should feel while learning and growing.

As investigations continue, one thing is certain — the capital must act swiftly to restore trust and calm in its school communities.
