Srinagar, Nov 07: In a significant educational shift, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has instructed the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to commence board examinations for classes 10th through 12th on February 15, 2025, aiming for completion by the end of March. This move restores the November-December academic session for higher classes, effective from the 2025-26 school year, as outlined in an official order from Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar Gupta.
This policy change, approved by the Council of Ministers on October 30, 2024, brings back the traditional academic calendar for students in the Kashmir Valley and Jammu’s winter zone. For the 2024-25 academic year, the November-December calendar will also be reinstated for classes 1 through 9, with exams scheduled for late 2024.
Under the revised structure, JKBOSE will conduct the upcoming board exams for classes 10th to 12th beginning February 15, 2025. Additionally, class 8 summative assessments will now be handled by individual schools, aligning with the new academic schedule for this session onward.
