Indonesia has moved quickly to calm public concerns over fuel availability, assuring citizens that subsidized fuel prices will remain stable and stock levels are secure, even in the face of growing tensions in the Middle East.
The government is emphasizing the importance of staying calm and avoiding panic buying, which could disrupt supply chains and create unnecessary shortages.
Dwi Anggia, spokesperson for the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, stressed that the country has adequate energy supplies to meet public demand, especially as the Idul Fitri festive season approaches. She noted that Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia echoed this assurance, confirming that prices of subsidized fuel, including Pertalite, will remain unchanged despite fluctuations in global oil markets.
“We urge the public to remain calm, avoid panic buying, and refrain from hoarding fuel, which could eventually lead to shortages,” Dwi said, according to Antara News Agency on Friday.
The government is also taking steps to ensure smooth fuel distribution throughout Indonesia, making sure communities across the nation have access to the supplies they need.
At a time when uncertainty abroad can easily affect people at home, these reassurances remind citizens that planning and calm are far more effective than fear. By staying informed and acting responsibly, Indonesians can enjoy a worry-free festive season without unnecessary fuel stress.
