Govt Notifies New Timings for Kashmir Schools

The School Education Department has announced revised timings for government and private schools across Kashmir, with the new schedule set to take effect from October 15.

According to the order issued by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Wednesday, schools operating within the municipal limits of Srinagar will function from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Meanwhile, schools located outside Srinagar’s municipal limits will follow a revised schedule from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.

The department has directed all concerned educational institutions to follow the new timings strictly. The order makes it clear that schools are expected to implement the revised schedule without deviation.

The change applies to both government-run and private educational institutions, making it important for school administrations, teachers, students and parents to take note of the updated hours and plan their daily routines accordingly.

Parents are advised to confirm the revised schedule with their children’s respective schools, particularly when making arrangements for transportation, school drop-offs and pick-ups.

With the new timings coming into effect on October 15, schools across the region are expected to adjust their daily operations in accordance with the department’s instructions. Following the schedule will help ensure a smooth transition for students, teachers and school staff.

For families, even a small change in school hours can affect the rhythm of the entire day. Staying informed and preparing in advance can help students arrive on time and allow parents and teachers to manage their responsibilities with fewer disruptions.
