The much-anticipated results of the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024 will be revealed on October 8. Vote counting is set to begin at 8 a.m., with officials and party representatives arriving at the counting centres as early as 5 a.m. Briefings for election officials are scheduled for 6 a.m., ensuring everyone is prepared for the process.
The counting will commence with postal ballots, which cover specific groups such as individuals with disabilities, security personnel, and essential government employees. Once postal ballots are processed, the focus will shift to the votes cast through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
By midday, early trends are expected to emerge, with more definitive results anticipated by late afternoon. As soon as the counting is complete, results for each constituency will be announced. India’s electoral system operates on a first-past-the-post basis, meaning the candidate with the most votes in each constituency is declared the winner.
