In a heartbreaking incident early Monday, several Indian Umrah pilgrims, many from Telangana, are feared dead after a devastating bus accident in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

The bus, carrying around 40 Indian nationals, reportedly collided with an oil tanker at approximately 1:30 am (IST), leaving families across India anxiously awaiting updates.

The Indian Mission in Jeddah has immediately set up a dedicated control room to coordinate support, ensuring that every possible effort is made to assist those affected.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is currently in Russia, expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy.
He stated that the Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are extending full support to the victims and their families. He also offered heartfelt condolences and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also shared his shock and concern.
Upon receiving preliminary information indicating that the pilgrims were traveling from Mecca to Madina—and that several Hyderabad residents were among them—he directed senior officials to gather detailed reports.

His office confirmed that he has instructed authorities to remain in close contact with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Saudi Embassy to ensure immediate relief actions.
