AirAsia Joins Forces with Malaysian Armed Forces to Provide Trusted Travel Support

LANGKAWI: In a heartfelt move to support the men and women who serve our nation, AirAsia has officially signed a charter service agreement with the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), valued at RM99.5 million. This meaningful collaboration, announced during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2025 exhibition, extends until August 1, 2027, and covers both daily and special charter flights across the country.

More than just a contract, this partnership reflects a strong commitment to the people who dedicate their lives to defending Malaysia. AirAsia, known as the people’s airline, is stepping up to ensure that our armed forces have access to reliable, efficient, and comfortable transportation – whether they’re traveling for duty or welfare.

From Monday to Friday, MAF personnel will be able to fly seamlessly on AirAsia’s regular commercial routes, making full use of the airline’s extensive domestic network. For times when privacy and exclusivity are needed, entire aircraft will be reserved solely for military personnel, ensuring they can travel without any disruptions or mixing with commercial passengers.

“This is not just about moving people from one place to another. It’s about honoring their service and making sure they’re taken care of every step of the way,” said Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia. “We’re proud to serve those who serve us.”

But it doesn’t stop at the skies. The agreement also includes full support on the ground: from airport logistics to luggage handling, and even in-flight meals – all designed to make every journey more comfortable for the MAF.

This partnership is a reminder that while our armed forces protect the country, it’s our duty to support and uplift them in return – and AirAsia is proud to lead the way.
