New Delhi – In a serious and urgent advisory, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued a strong caution to Indian nationals considering employment opportunities in Iran. This warning follows alarming reports of individuals being lured under false pretenses and then falling into the hands of criminal gangs.
According to the MEA, several recent incidents have involved Indian citizens who were promised lucrative jobs or assured transit to third countries for better employment. However, upon arrival in Iran, these individuals were kidnapped, and ransom demands were made to their families back home in India.
“These are not just unfortunate events; they are premeditated crimes targeting innocent job-seekers,” the MEA stated. “Criminal networks are exploiting the desperation of individuals and their families, turning hope into horror.”
The advisory goes on to clarify that visa-free entry into Iran is strictly allowed only for tourism, and not for employment. Therefore, any agent or intermediary claiming visa-free employment opportunities in Iran is potentially working in collusion with these criminal syndicates.
Indian citizens are strongly urged to verify the authenticity of job offers, double-check visa requirements, and avoid dealing with unauthorized or suspicious agents.
A Human Word of Caution:
Behind every fake job offer is a family that suffers, a dream that shatters, and a life that could be lost. If you or someone you know is considering going abroad for work, pause, verify, and protect yourself.
Your life is not worth a promise made by a stranger. Don’t be the next headline—be informed, be safe, and stay vigilant.
